1.8 Compliance status of ‘Guidelines on Learner Support Centre’ – As per Annexure - X of UGC(ODL) Regulations, 2017:
HEI shall mention the process followed for identification of LSCs and the agreement terms for providing support to the learners thereby ensuring compliance to the LSCs provisions of the Regulations. The explicit details of approval by its Statutory Authorities/CIQA shall also be mentioned.
1. In KSOU learner support are provided in three tier namely Headquarters, Regional Centers and Learner Support Centers. 2. HEI understood do’s and don’ts of such centers. 3. Established learner support centers in the state of Karnataka. 4. Invited application in the prescribed format from the Institutions offering courses for candidates qualified 10+2. 5. After receiving duly filled in applications from learner supp ort centers, screening committee will examine and recommend provided the institutions fulfil the conditions of HEI. 6. Established learner support centers in the institutions recommended by the UGC i.e., Government Colleges, Private Affiliated Colleges offering the courses of HEI. 7. Learner Support Centers manual is put in place. 8. Workshop conducted for the co-ordinators and also the counsellors. 9. HEI developed the competency of the counsellors to handle the services strictly as per the orders of the UGC. 10. Students submit assignment to the learner support centers, and valuation done
